Bucket list item checked off!  Whale sharks were amazing.  We saw three different ones that were 3-4m.  These were small compared to the biggest ones that can be over 20m long but it was still magnificent to see.  It was so weird to just see them in the water.  Like everything I had fantasized about was just there swimming around, living its life, not just to be my fantasy.

Was a little hard because Tom and I used to joke that we’d have whale sharks at our wedding and we had been thinking about going to Holbox, Mexico to see them.  In the end, didn’t really matter.  This was always on my list and I did it!

Also saw a bunch of octopi on a snorkel in the Ningaloo marine sanctuary. I love how they can change colors so quickly and can squeeze into the tiniest of nooks and crannies. See if you can identify the camoflaged octopi:

The next day, I explored the Cape Range National Park and Ningaloo beaches with Craig, a friend I made from the whale shark tour. We walked Yardie Creek Gorge and snorkeled in Oyster Stacks and Turquoise Bay.  Was gorgeous.  I had been to these places 8 years ago with Graham, a coworker at LEK though I can’t say I really remembered most of the places.  We had taken 8 days to drive a campervan from Perth to Exmouth and back.
